Legal Recruitment Blog Part 1 by Stephen Wright

Having all experienced some turbulent economic times it’s expected that the worst is behind us now.  We found activity in the banking sector shrank drastically and demand for legal professionals within this field followed suit.

This is fairly transparent and we have seen the number of candidates available in this sector rise accordingly. However, it is still proving a challenge to find suitably qualified and experienced legal professionals within certain fields.

Many clients who are sourcing experienced and qualified legal professionals continue to face strong challenges in tempting people away from their current environments. The market remains competitive with more choices for candidates and any ‘job offers’ require a strong & convincing proposition to get them finalised.

Overall the market brings some challenges along with a great many opportunities. We have seen the amount of client instructions increase drastically and to source suitably experienced candidates in this market has forced us to adapt.  Commercial, Employment law, Corporate Commercial and Immigration law.

Legal Recruitment Blog 2 by Stephen Wright

September is proving to be another busy month and it seems we are seeing some significant changes in the legal landscape.

This could be in response to the Legal services Act 2007 which allows solicitors to combine their services with non legal businesses such as banking and insurance related services; allowing law firms to offer a much wider range of services.

Competition amongst the law firms is high; it’s easy to see that some law firms are already responding. We have seen a key client merger giving them a presence across, Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridge and Essex.  Also further merger talks are taking place around the region so it seems there could be a reshaping of the land locally.

It will be very interesting to see how the legal market evolves over the next 12 months and how both the regional and high street practices react.
